Comporta

The last and vastest coastal natural and preserved heritage left totally pristine in the south of Europe at very easy reach from all major European capitals.
The Comporta/Muda area is a place of extraordinary splendor that offers a variety of sensations, fragrances and flavors that mix in perfect harmony with the ocean breeze and the naturally green forest.
Located in the South of Europe, in Portugal, an hour drive from Lisbon and about a couple of hours flight from most European capitals, this area is an icon of well-being.
A place that still preserves the most precious attributes: space, freedom, authenticity and privacy. A natural agricultural reserve, where the clear sky, the pine tree fragrance and the vast white sandy banks invite us to take part in this idyllic scenery.
This territory has ecological and environmental components that make it unique. Part of the land is classified as a Natural Ecological Reserve and part of it is included in the “Rede Natura 2000” network. The different connecting areas – between the Sado Estuary, beaches and coastal dunes, the riverbanks, marshlands and rice fields – create a very rich biodiversity (flora and fauna), with unique features in this region.
Pego and Comporta beaches obtained the ISO 14001 certification in 2005, becoming the first beaches of the Portuguese West Coast to receive this award.
This region, one of the greenest, calmest and most sustainable leisure places, was for many centuries in the hands of the Portuguese monarchy, one of the largest estates in the Iberian Peninsula.
The proximity of the country’s capital provides access to the best shows, theaters, cinemas and museums, just an hour away.
